Central Operations & Regional Nodes
The extensive flooding due to Tropical Storm Lee is impacting the Chesapeake Bay with sediment-laden flood waters. Satellites are being used to track the extent of the plume of sediment and to help understand the effects of sediment pollution on the Bay's ecosystem.
More information and daily tracking of this plume is available at NOAA CoastWatch East Coast Regional Node.
NOAA CoastWatch now provides access to MERIS imagery and data products. Imagery can be browsed through our Product Search. Data (CW-HDF) access requires approval by the European Space Agency. To become an approved MERIS user, please visit the ESA Earth Observation Principal Investigator Portal (EOPI): http://eopi.esa.int .
